Children prepare for First Eucharist beginning at around age seven. They prepare over the course of one academic year, beginning in October and concluding with the celebration of First Eucharist in May with the participation, blessings, and support of the congregation. Parents and families are drawn into the preparations. The liturgy for the celebration of the children’s First Eucharist is planned by the children and their families.
Catechesis for First Reconciliation is conducted over the course of six sessions, concluding with the young people’s participation in First Reconciliation in the early spring. Parents are considered an integral part of the process of the children’s preparation for the reception of this sacrament.
