Pentecost Sunday

This is the fest of Pentecost – 50 days after Easter.  As the giving of the Torah was celebrated 50 days after Passover, so the giving of the Spirit is celebrated 50 days after Easter.  And although we tend to see it as a commemorative event (we celebrate what God did the PAST), it should be seen as an active celebration – God is giving the Spirit to us NOW.  And keeps giving.
